California State Flags

Use California state flags to show your pride in California. The California flag is a representation of the strength and pride of California. The current flag was adopted by state legislature in 1911. In the center of the flag is a grizzly bear. Reminiscent of the flag raised during the Bear Flag Revolt in Sonoma in 1846, it represents the not only the flag of the revolt, but the numerous grizzlies that populated the state. The words "California Republic" emblazoned on the flag pay tribute to the feisty pioneers who settled the area. The lone star represents their independent spirit.
