Connecticut State Flags
![]() Connecticut state flags have rich history even among other history flags. The flag features the arms and the seal of the state. The most significant is the three grape vines in the center of the seal which represent the three original colonies that came together to build Connecticut; New Haven, Saybrook and what is now known as Hartford. The grapes are a symbol of good luck and peace. The vines represent strong and lasting friendships. The Latin phrase which appears on the bottom of the seal says Qui Transtulit Sustinet which in English means "He who transplanted continues to sustain." The white oak that is in the corners of the seal represent age and strength and the oak tree became the official state tree in 1947. |
