Montana State Flags
![]() Montana state flags are perhaps the most colorful and unique of all. The flag represents the great history and diverse land of the Treasure State, and it is a great addition to the porch of any Montana resident. The flag is blue in color with "Montana" across the top in yellow print. Underneath is the state seal, which contains a pick, shovel, and plow. These tools represent the activities of pioneer times: farming and mining. In the background, the sun rises over the mountains, forests and falls of the Missouri River. At the bottom of the seal is a purple ribbon containing the state motto "Oro-y-Plata," which means "gold and silver." As described above, the Montana state flag is a colorful depiction of the beautiful land and rich history of the Treasure State. The flag is a great way to show appreciation of what Montana has to offer. |
