North Dakota State Flags
![]() North Dakota state flags are flapping symbols of state and national history. Adopted in 1911, the flag displays a bright blue background with a bald eagle (very similar to the seal of the United States of America) and a sun in the center. Underneath the eagle, on a gold banner is the name of the state: "North Dakota." The eagle is holding a banner that says: "E pluribus unum," which means "out of the many, one." This is not the only interesting state flag in the union; research New Mexico state flags, or flags of Kentucky or Ohio. There is a lot of knowledge to absorb when you study state flags. |
